Neurodevelopmental & Diagnostic Evaluations

CAAC is committed to providing evidence-based and neurodiversity affirming neurodevelopmental evaluations for all individuals all the way through adulthood. These evaluations are helpful to aid in diagnostic clarification, assist with treatment planning and obtainment of supports and resources.

Signs of autism and delays can develop before your child’s first birthday. Because it can affect their social, emotional and communication skills, CAAC is especially dedicated to the assessment of children under age 5. Gaining access to early intervention services can be so crucial in aiding these toddlers and preschoolers.

This is for families that have not yet had their child assessed for Autism. Start Here if you have questions about your child's social, emotional and behavioral functioning. This is also for families that have a referral from a school, PCP or therapy facility, or you are looking to set up supports. This is generally a 3 appointment process.

Appointment Process

Our goal throughout the assessment process is to ensure that our clients and their families feel supported whether they are first receiving a diagnosis or getting an updated evaluation. CAAC is committed to helping individuals and families understand themselves or their child’s presentation.

CAAC provides consultation services for families requesting additional support managing their child’s challenging behaviors, picky eating, sleep difficulties, or toileting delays. Additionally, parents may consult to discuss educational supports. These are typically 1 hour appointments.

Fees & Insurance

CAAC understands that evaluations are an important investment in a child’s future but can financially be an expensive process. To provide affordable evaluations, CAAC is in network and accepting BCBS, United Healthcare, GA Medicaid, Peachstate, and Caresource insurances.

Please note, we will no longer be accepting Humana, UMR, or Cigna insurances after April 30th, 2023 (this means that we will not schedule new clients after this date, but will continue to see our families already scheduled).

We also will no longer be accepting Aetna insurance after September 1st, 2024. We are not scheduling any new patients with Aetna insurance at this time. If you have already been scheduled or are a current patient and need an additional consultation appointment, please schedule your appointments to be prior to September 1st, 2024 to use your benefits.

Our office will check your insurance benefits as a courtesy to provide an estimate of any costs following your intake appointment. We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance ahead of time to check your benefits.

If you wish to check coverage with your insurance please read our blog on “What to Ask Your Insurance Provider Before an Appointment”.

If we are not in-network with your insurance, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for out of network coverage.

Self-pay rates are provided upon request. In general for self- pay, we bill at $200/hour for all services and the total cost depends on individual needs, age of patient, and background but can range between $1400-$2200+.
